Windscreen Chip Repairs
Having a broken or cracked car windscreen is not only a potential safety risk to you and your family, but it can also infringe upon our road laws and attract hefty fines. A cracked or chipped windscreen does not always need replacing. Sometimes the chip can be repaired. We do this by preparing the crack using a specialised drill bit, creating a vacuum around the chip ensuring the resin fills the entire chip and its cracks.
There are several conditions the chip must meet to perform a repair as opposed to a complete windscreen replacement:
- The chip and it’s cracks must be able to be covered by a $2 coin
- The chip cannot be within 5cm to the edge
